A Little History
|
In early 1999, I opened my practice at 801 West Bay Drive. Later that year, I began doing part-time guidance counseling at St. Paul Catholic School in St. Petersburg, and met Mary Ann Holtz, LMHC, who was in practice at the parish. The idea of working in a parish-based setting, and the flexibility to serve in that way, appealed to me. The years went by, and in 2018, through the generosity and faith of Fr. Tom Anasthasius, then the pastor of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Largo, and Fr. Len Piotrowski of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor, I was given the opportunity to close my secular location and move into borrowed space in each parish. This reduced my overhead by half, allowing me to dial back my fees to early-2000's levels and, just as importantly, move to a sliding scale fee model. Father Jonathan Emery, now Parochial Administrator of St. Matthew Catholic Church, has permitted me to continue working on their campus.
